I hate it, but I feel I have no choice. I have finally submitted to getting a myspace, and making my xanga inactive...

If you want to find me, check facebook or myspace, I may be there. Or you could just call or email me, that works better anyways.

Goodbye for now Xanga...

Happy Saint Patty's Day!

I've managed to weasel some of the money the school has ripped off from me back, and we don’t have to work as much. That's nice, because this has been a fairly schoolwork intensive semester. I've been thinking a lot about the future this semester, and I was originally thinking about transferring to Ga State next year so that I could get into a good school. I was planning to apply to Berkley as my first choice and Arizona as my safety school. Berkley is the second best history school in the country and Arizona is the 15th, but it gives out lots of assistantships. The only problem is that I'm not sure if they would take a student from Brewton Parker. Eventually we decided to go along and stick with BPC, and hope for the best. This summer Lisa and I will both be in Atlanta working and taking a couple classes from perimeter. I plan on working at a carnival, PetSmart, or the International Farmers Market, and I plan on taking philosophy and world religions. I wanted to take those at a public school to get a less biased perspective. Philosophy with a Zondervan textbook is not philosophy at all. So lotsa planning is being done and things are going good. I'll provide another update when I chose my schedules.

And by the way, I've managed to narrow my area of historical expertise a little. I'm having to pick between German Romantic Philosophy or French Enlightenment Philosophy, or somewhere in between. Any suggestions?

Oh, and we're engaged.

Happy Holidays!

I hope all those who have time off from their normal routine are enjoying it, and those who do not are toughing it out. The semester is done, and I managed to get all A's again, and things are looking good. Lisa is coming over to where I am in ATL on the 27th or so, and we will both be here till like the 10th of January. Feel free to drop me a line if you would like a visit.

So, a wrench has been thrown into my future plans in that my good freind and mentor Kevin McCranie just left Brewton-Parker for another school. He was helping me look through grad schools and writing my recomendation letter and teaching most of my classes, and so it's a prett big loss. Sad day...

But yeah, future plans are looking as so: Go to school this spring then work full time as a carni this summer, then go to school for another year and graduate. At that point I hope to get an assisstantship at a nice state school working and teaching for a Modern European history proffessor. After getting my Masters I will go to Europe to get my doctorate. I am not sure how/if marriage with Lisa will fit into this, but I am sure that it can.

So yeah, like I said I hope that all of the holidays (and other days) are happy for you guys, and feel free to contact me for conversation or visit.

Tempting Faith: An Inside Story of Political Seduction

So things are great. I just finished my paper, and the midsemester rush is finally over. I gotta say, that was pretty ridiculous this time. It was just 3 straight weeks of paper after test after paper. Coming down with Strep Throat and bronchitis didn't help very much... But yeah, I’ve lost my fair share of sleep, but its over now, and I can coast through the rest of the semester. Hopefully I'll make up some hours and good ole Ruby Tuesdays.
Ok, so I have been planning like crazy, and here’s how things are looking. This summer, I take a couple classes at Georgia Perimeter, and then in the fall me and David get an apartment in Mount Vernon, and finish up.  Its great, I'll make it out with my triple major with time to spare. Took a crap load of planning though. Anyways, after I graduate, I will (probably) head on to get a doctorate in history. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a big state school like UGA, but I'm up for anything if anybody has any ideas. I'd really like to do something overseas, and if not that then NYU would be good. Only problem is that cost of living is insane in New York.
But yeah, church is going great with David, we are going through Mark together for the rest of the semester, and been helping each other to do some cool stuff. Lisa is still my beloved, she is trying to pull ahead of me in school, and future plans are kinda confusing there...
Righto. For all you ATL folks, I am coming back for Thanksgiving, then again in mid-December for winter break. And just for you guys, here’s a sneak peak of the classes I am taking next semester:

Hey guys!

Yeah, so I haven't posted for a couple months. Whoops. Anyways, I'm back at BPC and things are going really good. My class schedule, so you don’t call me is:

CHR*320*A

III

Elementary Biblical Hebrew I

MWF 9AM

HEB*101*A

III

The Synoptic Gospels

MWF 10AM

HIS*321*A

III

Twentieth-Century Europe

MWF 11AM

HIS*350*A

III

Middle Eastern History

M 6-830 PM

PSY*309*A

III

Human Sexuality

TUTH 12PM

So yeah, I'm definitely digging Twentieth Century Europe hardcore. It's my area of expertise. Us history folk have to pick an area of expertise and modern Europe is mine. Definitely a good class schedule. I'm toying with the idea of going to a state school to get a Masters in History, to teach with or whatever. Ultimately, I would love to be a History professor at a community college while being a bivocational ministry-leader guy.

Here are my brief ideas on ministry leader guy job: I want to plant and lead small churches that focus on discipleship. I want to foster groups of people into close-knit community groups that travel through life together. I never intend to be a preacher, but I do intend to be a teacher and a leader. But yeah, its all really lose stuff that I reeeeally love to talk about. And I want to do it while i have a secular job so i can lead by example in ministry and discipleship. Also because I can't imagine that I would be a healthy Christian without regular interaction with non-Christians in a churchless setting. The bubble affect kills me.

On a related subject, I started a small group here at the school that is my "church." We pray for each other, worship God together, get deep into the Bible, hold each other accountable, disciple each other, and push each other on in our respective mission fields. Some would call it an "assembly of the righteous" but it's more than that in that its an all week commitment, not just a meeting.

So it was definitely me and Lisa's one-year anniversary on Tuesday, that was pretty awesome. Things are great.

Yeah, so I definitely love to talk about stuff, and listen to other people talk about stuff,  so if you like that too then contact me.

Peace.
